I was 12 years old on this date in '79. I think I watched every single episode of that show. Every time my dad walked by the TV he would say, "Hmm, looks like California."

He was right, of course, because according to Hollywood, everything takes place in California.

I was only three when it started, still loved that show though.
I remember this play set quite fondly.

I didn't see it when I was 12, but yes, he's right. Maybe it's supposed to be Alabama (or Georgia, or wherever), but it was filmed on a Hollywood back lot. Now I'm doing the same thing to my boys when they watch TV.

I spent my childhood summers in Kentucky, I always wondered why Hazard County looked so different...
Never thought about much more until I grew up and moved to California to work in TV...

Well, it's a good enough time as any to have a General Lee Jump Supercut.
Seasons 1-3
Seasons 4-6
That jump at 0:37 (there are two angles of it) always amazes me.

It was long since cancelled by the time I was born (1989), but I grew up watching reruns all the time. It was by far my favorite show. I had several die-cast General Lees and several t-shirts. And now I have some old Dukes of Hazzard curtains that I found at a thrift shop and couldn't pass up. Also went to Cooter's Place in Nashville recently!
